Rayagada: The owner of a house died after a portion of an under-construction building caved in on him at Siriguda on the outskirts of Rayagada town early Tuesday morning. Two others of the family sustained critical injuries, sources said.
The deceased has been identified as Enketi Senapati of Chintaliguda village.
According to reports, the roof of the house was cemented five days ago. It collapsed this morning while Senapati was inside the house.
He was critically injured and admitted to hospital by his kin. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The injured have been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Rayagada.
Police have started an investigation into the incident after registering an unnatural death case.
