Coronavirus has fallen to the 15th most-searched topic in India, according to the search engine giant.
However, coronavirus and vaccine were still at the top of search queries in the country in the July on Google Search as coronavirus symptoms grew by over 10 per cent over the month. July marked the second-highest monthly peak on record after March 2020 in terms of caseload for COVID-19.
According to Google Search trends for July, the top trending coronavirus-related search was “Amitabh Bachchan corona positive” which saw a spike of 5,000 per cent. Corona related insurance searches like “Corona kavach policy”, “Corona rakshak policy” also increased over 3,300 per cent while “Aishwarya Rai coronavirus” keyword search saw an over 2,550 per cent jump.
According to the search engine giant, COVID-19 symptoms-related searches have been highest in Sikkim during the month of July, followed by Daman & Diu, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The states that figure in the top 10 list for coronavirus searches on Google Search in July were Jharkhand, Goa, Chandigarh, Daman and Diu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Delhi, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Himachal Pradesh.
