The Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer ‘War’ has made a tremendous start, breaking all records on its first day at the box office.
Released October 2 on Gandhi Jayanti, the film recorded the highest ever opening day collection for a Hindi film, beating Aamir Khan’s ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ which was released in 2018.
As per latest reports, ‘War’ has amassed a mammoth total of Rs 50 crore on its opening day. Great news for Tiger Shroff as the film recorded the highest occupancy in his career, seventh-highest in Hrithik’s and an overall occupancy of 70 per cent.
The only film that stands ahead of ‘War’ is ‘Avengers: Endgame’ which was released earlier in 2019 and opened to Rs 53 crore with 77 per cent occupancy.
The high-octane action packed movie was released across 3800 plus screens in Hindi. The film was also released in English and Telugu.
The Siddharth Anand directorial did face stiff competition in the south thanks to the Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan starrer period drama ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ which was also released on Gandhi Jayanti.
‘War’ also features Ashutosh Rana and Vaani Kapoor in important roles. Action packed with jaw dropping stunts, the film is expected to break all sorts of records by the end of its first week.
