Bhubaneswar: The High School Certificate (HSC) supplementary examination, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) began Friday.
A total of 26,643 students are appearing for the examinations at 100 centres across the state. According to BSE Controller of Examinations Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, OMR (optical mark recognition) answer-sheets would be used for objective tests from 9 am to 10 am following which the descriptive test would start and continue till 11.30 am.
Students who will clear the supplementary examination would be eligible to take admission in Plus II streams in the current academic session.
Briefing the media here, BSE President Jahan Ara Begum said the Board officials had started sending question papers to the examination centres June 17 amid tight security. The question papers have reached all the centres by Thursday evening. She further said that the Board has taken adequate measures to curb malpractice. The examination will conclude June 29.
