IIMC, Dhenkanal forest div launch photography contest

DHENKANAL: The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal, in partnership with the Divisional Forest Office, has announced a nature and wildlife photography competition and invited submissions from September 10-25.

A public exhibition of the shortlisted entries will follow in the first week of October to celebrate International Wildlife Week.

The contest is open to IIMC students and residents of the Dhenkanal district, with categories for individual entries, group photo-features, and an open section for the public and professionals.

Themes include “Beauty in Biodiversity,” “ColoUrs of Flora & Fauna,” and “Man– Animal: Peaceful Coexistence.”

“The contest will inspire citizens, especially youth, to appreciate and document our unique biodiversity,” said Sumit Kar, Divisional Forest Officer, Dhenkanal. Professor Anand Pradhan, Regional Director of IIMC, emphasised the role of communication in conservation.
