IIT-BBS admission process begins

Bhubaneswar, May 15: Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (IIT) has begun its admission process for admission into M Tech and Ph D Friday, 18 days after the declaration of JEE Main results.

The admission to the premier institute will be conducted in two phases — written test and personal interview. The process will end June 9 after which about 2,202 candidates will take part to acquire about 921 seats at IIT BBS.

The institute offers Masters in Technology (M Tech) and Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph D) in mechanical sciences, earth sciences, infrastructure, electrical and minerals, metallurgical and materials technology.

Nearly 1,556 candidates have been shortlisted to take the tests for M Tech courses while 646 have been called for Ph D.

For M Tech, a whopping 592 candidates will take part in the tests for mechanical sciences May 18, 107 will take part for infrastructure May 19-21, 543 students for electrical sciences May 20 and 274 candidates for minerals, metallurgical and materials engineering.

Similarly, for Ph D, nearly 54 candidates have been called for climatic and geosciences May 16, 31 students for infrastructure May 18, 21 students for humanities, social sciences and management May 19, 140 students for mechanical sciences May 20 and 21, 126 students for electrical sciences, 110 for electrical engineering, and 116 for electronic and communication engineering May 25.

The written and interview tests for Ph D candidates of mineral, metallurgical and materials engineering will be held June 9.
