In this Madhya Pradesh village where rich men cannot get themselves married or fail to find a partner, they just rent a woman on the monthly or yearly basis for prices as low as a few thousand, reports said.
These men who do not have a wife or a partner simply sign on stamp papers worth Rs 10 and the deal is locked. Once this contract ends, the man has an option to renew it or move on.
This practice happens in Shivpuri, a district located in the central Indian, in the Gwalior Division of northwest Madhya Pradesh.
But it isn’t MP where we have caught this happening. In 2006, a man in Gujarat sold his wife to a rich businessman for a monthly rental of Rs 8000.
