Adelaide: India were bowled out for 244 in their first innings at the Adelaide Oval here Friday against Australia on day two of the pink ball Test match.  It means that India could only manage to add 11 runs to their overnight total of 233 for six. The batsmen to be dismissed were Wriddhiman Saha (nine), Ravichandran Ashwin (15), Umeshy Yadav (six) and Mohammed Shami (0). Pacers Mitchell Starc (4/53) and Pat Cummins (3/48) shared all the four wickets to fall Friday morning. Ashwin was the first batsmen to be dismissed and he was followed into the hut by Wriddhiman Sah. The tail did not last long. It meant that Virat Kohli remained the top scorer of the innings with 74.

After Kohli’s run out Thursday, India lost their last six wickets for just 56 runs. The lower order batsmen could not handle the second new ball. It means that all the hard work done by Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara has gone to waste.
