Bhubaneswar: In a massive development for women’s football in the country, India has been confirmed as the hosts of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Friday. This will be the second time that India will be hosting a FIFA tournament after their successful hosting of the men’s U-17 mega event. The decision was announced in the FIFA council meeting Friday in Miami. The meeting also saw discussions on the possible expansion to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar from 32 teams to 48 to which the apex body confirmed that they will work on the matter.
