Sydney, March 24: Former Australia fast bowler Brett Lee Tuesday termed the current Indian pace attack as the ‘fastest ever’ to have ever represented the country and singled out Mohammed Shami as the best.
“They always hit the 145kmph mark. If they keep hitting the right length and line, then they will be in with a chance to win many more matches for India,” Lee said about India’s pace trio here, Tuesday.
Lee felt that India have a good chance of upstaging the hosts. “India have a power- packed outfit and the momentum is with them. So the game can go down to the wire,” Lee told reporters.
The speedster felt that the Indian spinners may also come into the game if the pitch turns out to be slow. “I haven’t seen the pitch, but the reports suggest that it is going to be a touch slower and that would help India,” Lee stated.
The former pacer agreed that Virat Kohli might unleash himself and play a game-
changing innings in the semis. “Virat is a world class player and he has proven that over the last few years. He obviously has got the right technique, a wonderful opportunity now waits for him in the semis,” Lee pointed out.
Lee reckoned that Pat Cummins might just have a good chance of coming in the Australian side in place of Josh Hazlewood. “Both Cummins and Hazlewood are in form and one can replace the other as per the team’s requirement,” Lee stated. “But as Pat is more express, I expect him to play.”
