Indian leg-spinner Rahul Chahar made his debut for the national team in the third and final T20I against the West Indies, Tuesday at the Providence Stadium in Guayana.
The Men In Blue did not seem to break a sweat by beating the home team by seven wickets thus registering a 3-0 series whitewash.
Rahul and his brother Deepak, who marked a return to the side, received high praise from Indian captain Virat Kohli who could not be happier with his team selection.
“We wanted to try a couple of guys. We gave both the Chahar brothers a go in this game. It was Rahul’s first game and Deepak’s come back. Playing for the first time, I think he (Rahul) was outstanding with the new ball,” Kohli said in the post-match press conference.
Speaking of Rahul, the 20-year-old is a keen social media user. When unmarried cricketers refrain from giving fans a glimpse of their romantic lives, Rahul unabashedly declares his love for his girlfriend Ishani through cute posts on Instagram.
