Daringbadi: A three-year-old girl sustained critical burn injuries after she fell into a bonfire. The incident was reported from Kadagabali village under Daringbadi block in Kandhamal district Saturday.
Temperature in Daringbadi is below 3 degree Celsius. A little snowfall has also been witnessed in the Kashmir of Orissa. To get rid of the intense cold waves, residents are dependent on warm clothes and bonfire.
Sources said the incident occurred while the three-year-old girl was sitting near a bonfire with her parents. Accidentally, she fell into the fire and sustained critical burn injuries.
The local business association came to the rescue of the family of the girl and provided them money for treatment. The girl was admitted to Budaguda primary health centre for preliminary treatment. Later, she was shifted to the district headquarters hospital for further treatment as her condition worsened.
The girl is daughter of Kageswar Pradhan, a poor farmer of the locality. On being informed about Pradhan’s poor financial condition, the chief district medical officer also intervened and arranged for free medical treatment for the minor, sources said. PNN
