ITC to set up Food Park in Khurda district

Bhubaneswar, May 7: In a bid to promote medium and small scale industries, the state government Thursday decided to provide 30 acres of land to confectionery behemoth Indian Tobacco Company (ITC) for setting up a Food Park in Khurda district.
The decision was taken here at the state-level land allotment committee meet held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary GC Pati.
“The state government would provide 30 acres of land for the proposed Food Park which would be set up by the Indian Tobacco Company (ITC). The projected cost of the proposed park is `470 crore,” chairman and managing director (CMD) of Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) Vishal Dev said.
Besides, the committee also decided to provide 14 acres of land to SMS India Pvt Ltd, which would set up a steel equipment manufacturing unit in the district, with an investment of around `200 crore, Dev said.
He also added that 27 new proposals and 22 deferred project proposals were discussed during the meeting, of which 11 proposals were approved by the panel.
