Rayagada, May 20: CBI inspector DB Mitrawa interrogated four employees of a private company at agency’s camp office here on the fifth day of the fourth phase of investigation in Itishree Pradhan murder case, Wednesday.
Mitrawa first quizzed Kishore Chandra Nayak, a resident of D Karal village of Kashipur block who works as an operator with the company, for about two hours. Later three other staffers from Tikiri, D Karan and Kashipur areas were interrogated in the case. Earlier, 13 employees of the private company were interrogated in three phases. During the investigation, the Central agency found that these 17 people used to speak to Itishree regularly over telephone.
The revelation has become a cause of worry for CBI as they are wondering why class-III and IV employees of the company used to speak to a lady teacher so frequently, sources said. Suspecting their involvement in the case, CBI team earlier interrogated five brothers of a family. One of them works in the company.
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that nine staffers of the private company were staying behind Itishree’s room when she was immolated. They don’t stay there these days. CBI officials had summoned the owner of that house on several occasions for details of the staffers but he is yet to oblige. The nine staffers also used to talk to Itishree, her call details revealed.
Sources said, 70 persons have already been quizzed in fourth phase of investigation and 43 among them are either contractors, traders or company staff. Though CBI got some important clues from these 43 persons, it refused to divulge details. Meanwhile, the woman who was present during the dying declaration of Itishree remained in Bhubaneswar for some days under the refuge of a politician. However, she has reportedly gone out of the state after news about her reached the CBI.
