Jajpur villagers allege severe irregularities by Rural Development department in road construction

Chandikhol: Local villagers Friday alleged severe irregularities in the road laying work carried out recently by Chandikhol sub-division under Jaraka Division-2 of Rural Development department in Jajpur district.

They alleged that assistant executive engineer of Chandikhol sub-division Tulasi Patra has been show-caused by superintending engineer of the department here four times in the last one year. Even orders were issued to chargesheet the official some villagers informed.

It is pertinent to mention here that, the superintending engineer had ordered for preparing a charge-sheet vide office letter (No.-527, Dated-18.03.2020), after conducting a detailed investigation with regard to construction of a road stretching from Bharatpur area up to national highway under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

Notably, Patra had been previously working in the same sub-division as a junior engineer. He was promoted to the post of assistant executive engineer around three years ago. On being contacted, the engineer admitted that he has been served four show-cause notices.
