Berhampur, Jan 12: Jaundice claimed another life in the state with a resident of the city in Ganjam district succumbing to the disease Sunday.
The victim was identified as K Sinibas Rao of Kamapalli Badasahi here. Rao, who was working as auditor at the state secretariat at Bhubaneswar, used to stay there, while his family lived in Berhampur.
Rao’s 20-year-old son K Vishal said his father had gone to Bolangir and Sambalpur on deputation. After his return, he fell ill and was admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, where he was diagnosed as having jaundice.
After a few days of treatment in hospital, Rao was discharged and was under treatment at home. However, his condition worsened Sunday and he was rushed to the MKCG hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. Vishal said that the disease had affected his father’s liver, causing his death.
