Koraput: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan who ordered a Micromax mobile phone online was stunned when he received a black marble stone instead.
The victim of the fraud that cost him `13,186 was identified as Dharmendra Kajla. He is posted at Ankadeli panchayat with the BSF’s 143rd Batallion under Lamtaput block in Koraput district.
Unfortunately, Dharmendra is just one of the many who have fallen victim to such scams, sources said. According to sources, Dharmendra had ordered a Micromax Canvas mobile phone from Snapdeal a few days ago. He had made an online payment of `13,186 for the mobile phone.
Later, he received a parcel in his name Saturday. When he opened it, he found a black marble stone instead of the phone he had ordered.
Dharmendra lodged a written complaint with the local Machakunda police station against Snapdeal. Machakunda IIC Bimal Kumar Mallick registered a case and launched an investigation. PNN
