‘Jawan’ will do better than ‘Pathaan’, predict City fans

Bhubaneswar: Ending the month-long wait of millions of fans, Shah Rukh Khan’s new pan-India movie Jawan was released in theatres across the country Thursday. As expected, the Maharaja Cinema complex here was chock-a-block with the star’s admirers for a first-day-first-show viewing which started at 6.10 am. The members of Team Shah Rukh Khan, a fan club of the Baazigar actor, conducted a cake-cutting ceremony and put on Jawan movie-themed T-shirts to celebrate the release. A large cutout was also placed at the main gate.

Talking to Orissa POST, Debasish Parida, a diehard fan from Bhubaneswar said he watched the first show and will watch the movie again as SRK was never been portrayed like this. Many fans were seen dancing inside the theatres to the tune of the movie’s title song. Another fan Chinmay Mishra said SRK Atlee collaboration is working big time as the south director has exceeded expectations. Atlee presented the never-seen-before avatar of SRK which will be liked by the viewers, he claimed. Many fans predicted that Jawan would do better than SRK’s previous blockbuster Pathaan. When contacted, an official of the theatre said that all tickets were booked till the weekends. Produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra in key roles.
