Cuttack: Jay Durga Club (JDC) and SAI-STC won their respective matches of the FAO Ist Division League at the Barabati Stadium here, Tuesday.
JDC eked out a narrow 2-1 win over Radha Raman Club in a hard-fought game. All the goals came scored in the first period while a drab second half saw some more missed scoring chances by players of both sides.
Rajak Nag put JDC ahead seven minutes into the game. Akhilesh Toppo doubled the lead in the 34th minute. Mosesh Abasi however pulled one back for the Radha Raman Club five minutes later.
In the other match of the day, SAI-STC defeated SBI by a solitary goal. After a goalless first half, Daman Marndi struck the all important goal of the match in the 48th minute.

NFC scrape past RFC
Neelkamal Football Club (NFC) eked out a narrow 3-2 win over Regional Football Club (RFC) in a keenly-contested match of the Gati Krushna Memorial Football League (Division-B) in Bhubaneswar, Monday.
It was the losing side RFC who opened the scoring and took lead in the seventh minute through Khaithenman Vaiphei. However, Kadu Soren restored parity for NFC couple of minutes later.
After the change of ends, Mahendra Besra put NFC ahead a minute into the second period. In the 56th minute, Kadu gave NFC a two-goal advantage, scoring his team’s third and his second in the match.
Khaithenman however, reduced the deficit with a goal in the 60th minute. RFC tried their best to bring the scores level, but couldn’t succeed despite some clear scoring chances which they failed to convert.
