Doha: Joshna Chinappa continued her impressive run to reach the quarterfinals of the USD 1,15,000 Qatar Classic squash tournament here Monday as she defeated Yathreb Adel of Egypt in straight games 16-14, 11-8, 11-8. The 17th-ranked Indian had earlier beaten World No. 1 Raneem El Welily of Egypt on day one. However, Monday she had to fight hard in each of the games and scraped through because of her experience. “This court is very rewarding when you get your length (of the ball) right, it really clings to the wall,” said Joshna. The Indian was down 2-6 and 3-6 in the first two games, but came back strongly to win them. In the men’s section, Saurav Ghosal bowed out of the event. He was beaten 7-11, 8-11, 3-11 by Egyptian Fares Dessouki.
