Dhenkanal: A man was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Parikheda village under Sadangi forest range in Dhenkanal district Wednesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Ganesh Pradhan.
According to reports, the wild pachyderm crushed Pradhan to death while he was returning home after finishing work from his paddy field at 7 pm.
Irate villagers staged a road blockade protesting against the lack of forest officials and police in the locality. They also demanded compensation for the kin of the deceased.
