Nayagarh: A juvenile boy was sentenced to three years of imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to raping a minor girl, filming the incident and circulating the video on social media.
The convict will stay at a juvenile home, the court pronounced.
According to the case diary, the incident was reported from Sarankul area of Nayagarh district in April 2017.
According to reports, the victim, a Class IX girl student, was raped by the boy near Bhandar hill in Sarankul. Two other minor boys also helped him by taking the video and uploaded it on social media.
Following the incident, the victim’s family members lodged a complaint with Sarankul police.
Acting on the complaint, police nabbed all three and sent them to a juvenile home.
