Kamal Haasan meets Naveen, seeks ‘advice’

Bhubaneswar/Chennai: Acclaimed actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan called on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Chennai Wednesday.

Haasan, who recently entered into politics, held discussion with Naveen on the sidelines of investors’ meet held at Chennai, seeking the latter’s advice.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Haasan said that he met Naveen to appreciate the latter as a fan and also seek his advice.
“The Odisha Chief Minister initially faced criticism for being a newcomer in politics but later achieved more than those who were aware of politics,” Haasan said.
Lauding Naveen for his work, the actor-turned politician said he (Naveen) had been launching new schemes for the people of his state, some of which are pioneering ones at national level and his success in disaster management has been exemplary.
“Thank cinema and theatre’s multitalented icon @ikamalhaasan for his courtesy visit & for the kind words he had about the richness of #Odisha; his work as a humanitarian activist is indeed praiseworthy,” (sic) tweeted Naveen.
Earlier, Haasan met several opposition leaders including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy.
