Khurda face ECoR in final

Cuttack, April 4: Khurda and ECoR qualified for the summit clash of the Nalco Cup State Hockey Championship by winning their respective semifinals at the Barabati Stadium here Sunday.

Riding on a brace each by Prasana Tirkey and Niten Mukesh Tiga, Khurda trounced Angul 6-2. They were dominant in the first session scoring five goals. The two other goals were scored by Upendra Majhi and Sumit Toppo. The goals for Angul came via the sticks of Jugal and and Mukti Prasad.

In the second semifinal played on the day, ECoR thrashed Cuttack 7-1. Rajin Kandulana (17^th, 57^th, 64^th) scored a hat-trick, while Deepak Lugun(second minute), M Deepak Raj (18^th), Dillip Toppo (31^st) and David Minz (63^rd) struck once each. UP Singh (38^th) of Cuttack pulled one back.
