post news network, Bhubaneswar, July 24: City-based Kalinga Institute of Industrial Training (KIIT) has won the title of ‘Best Technological University in Eastern India’, during the 3rd CCI Technology Education Excellence Awards 2015, hosted by the Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmedabad on July 17, 2015.
The award was received by P P Mathur, vice chancellor, KIIT University, from Akshai Agrawal, VC, GTU at a glittering ceremony on their premises. During the event, CMAI Association of India gave the awards to the various universities for their excellence in different areas.
Many educationists and eminent personalities, including high commissioners, ambassadors and officials of such countries as Nigeria, Taiwan, Bolivia, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Rwanda, Zambia, etc. were present on the occasion. K H Patel, former Indian high commissioner to Uganda and ambassador to Rwanda and Burundi and member-BOA Committee-GCSR-GTU was also present at the presentation ceremony.
Expressing satisfaction over the achievement, Achyuta Samanta, founder, KIIT and KISS said that it was a matter of pride not only for KIIT, but also for Orissa. “One can touch the entire world through education; the high quality of education in the KIIT University has given a special identity to the state in the eastern India as well as in the world,” he said.
