Udala: An official inquiry has been launched after a lady teacher allegedly thrashed four hostel students brutally with a plastic pipe at a private residential school in Mayurbhanj district after they left the campus without permission to watch the Rath Yatra procession.
The incident occurred at Gurukul Vidya Mandir in Udala. According to school and police sources, the students had sought permission from the hostel in charge to go out to a field to attend nature’s call Friday.

Following the complaint, a three-member team comprising Block Education Officer (BEO) Subrata Kisku, Assistant Block Education Officer (ABEO) Sandhyarani Barik and Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC) Gaurishankar Bindhani visited the school to investigate the incident. The inquiry team confirmed that the students had been physically assaulted.
