Malinga has tons of record in the cricketing history. He has the record of dismissing all super batsmen including Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
Many batsmen were scared to face his bowls. But, what if we tell you that this brilliant pace-man himself got bowled after seeing an event manager. Yes! You heard it right. Malinga was bowled over by his wife and an event manager, Tanya Perera.
According to reports, Lasith met Tanya during an ad shoot. It was that moment when Malinga’s heart said that this was the girl.
Tanya Minoli Perera home town is Matara, she went to Vishaka Vidyalaya Colombo, and did her A/L’s in Commerce stream. Tanya has done her higher studies in Management and started her career as a Banker and later on joined a private company as the Public Relations Manageress. As her father was in USA, Tanya was planning to visit there to continue her higher studies when she met Lasith which eventually end as a wife of a legendary cricketer.
Tanya once revealed: “Lasith and I met during an ad shoot. We exchanged numbers and we started talking to each other on a daily basis. Before, I could understand anything; I had fallen head over heels for him.’
In a year’s time, Lasith proposed to Tanya. Later, Lasith and Tanya got married 22nd February 2010 and now they have kids. Tanya accompanies Malinga whenever possible in his foreign tours and says its great pleasure to watch him taking wickets.
