Cuttack: Tension ran high in Chauliaganj here Tuesday night after a lawyer was assaulted by a few police officials following a heated argument near Nua Bazaar bridge here earlier in the day.
Protesting the incident, over a hundred lawyers gheraoed the Chauliaganj police station Tuesday night demanding action against the cops involved in the attack.
The lawyer, who had sustained critical injuries in the attack, has been admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital here for treatment and his condition is stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, the lawyer association have immediate arrest of the errant police personnel.
