Bhubaneswar: The Status Committee of Lord Lingaraj Temple Friday submitted its third interim report to Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan Friday, outlining recommendations for the systematic conduct of temple rituals, religious services and repairs to the temple’s sanctum sanctorum.
The two-member committee, headed by Justice Durga Prasanna Choudhury, with Professor Prafulla Kumar Mishra as a member, submitted the report to the state government with recommendations on various aspects of temple administration, including seva-puja (religious services and worship), the orderly performance of daily rituals, and the repair and maintenance of the sanctum sanctorum.
The report also documents traditional practices followed in earlier times concerning temple rituals, religious services and worship.
