Bhubaneswar, May 30: Orissa eves were spanked 3-8 by Punjab in the semifinal of the Vth Sub-Junior Women’s (Division-A) Hockey Championships at Ranchi, Saturday. Orissa will face Haryana for the third-fourth playoff game, Sunday.
Punjab dominated the match right from the start. They continued their aggressive show throughout the match and scored eight goals. Asim Kanchan Barla (34th), Priyanka Kujur (37th) and Mariana Kujur (57th) struck for Orissa to salvage some pride.

Cuttack and Dhenkanal registered emphatic wins against their respective opponents in kabaddi, while Koraput earned a thumping win in the handball event of the 72nd State Level Police Sports Championship at the Reserve Police Ground in Sambalpur, Saturday. Orissa Fire Services and Dhenkanal played out an exciting draw in the handball event. They were tied at 20-20.
