Angul: A youth was beaten up by locals for allegedly misbehaving with a woman at Mundamala Sahi under Chhendipada block in Angul district Saturday. The angry mob tied the man to a pole and thrashed him brutally for the misconduct.
The incident came to fore after a video footage of the incident was circulated on social media.
According to sources, the youth, Lilipa Sahu of Mundamala Sahi was tied up to a cement pole and later beaten mercilessly by the relatives of the woman. The accused sustained grievous injuries in the assault.
Getting information, police reached the spot and rescued the youth from the villagers’ clutches. Later, he was admitted to Chhendipada Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment.
