Bhubaneswar, June 16: Lopamudra Mishra, industrialist Trialokya Mishra’s daughter-in-law, Thursday approached the Khurda Protection Officer to press for her four-point charter of demands which includes a residence at her in-laws’ place.
As per Protection of Women under Domestic Violence Act-2005, protection officers shall conduct enquiries into cases of violence against women and ensure their safety. Complainant Lopamudra was accompanied by Madhyam president Subhashree Dash who in the past has facilitated counselling between Lopamudra and her husband Sabyasachi Mishra.
Dash said Lopamudra has demanded interim maintenance, protection from threat, residence right at her in-laws house and custody of her child. The officer can take 60 days to submit a report before the local magistrate.
Lopamudra has also visited Mahila police Thursday to enquire about the progress of her case.
