Youngsters are coming up with marvellous experimental videos — mainly themed on romance — on YouTube. The latest in the league, which crossed 65K hits in just two days in social media, is ‘Last Summer’. Released on Amara Muzik, the video stars TV serial actor Jyote Prakash Panda and newbie Pratyasha Ray. Photographer Azhar Ali dons the director’s hat for the first time in this solo.
‘Last Summer’ is a love story that ends in a complex way. The protagonist’s love and passion for her lady love keeps him so engrossed that he loses touch with reality. “Being a photographer, I excel in creativity which I have put in the video. I always wanted to do videos but in vain. After Reels and Reels Music backed me up I came up with it. The output has come up as I had visualised,” said director Azhar Ali, who also is the photography director.
“We first shot the video and then went to Asad Nizam to compose the song. Later the lyrics were penned. Singer Satyajit Pradhan’s soulful voice added life to the work. We wanted to take a new face, and so zeroed in on Pratyasha for her photogenic look. I am thankful to Amara Muzik for their association and effort,” said producer Sthita Patnaik.
“We were shooting in scorching summer. During a shot Pratyasha had to run over hot sand barefooted. She executed the scene wonderfully much like a veteran despite the sizzling conditions. We were literally in flames — it was so unbearably hot. But still the scene was shot to perfection. I am happy that our hard work paid off,” said Jyote.
