Jajpur: In a tragic incident, two lovebirds, a 20-year-old youth and 18-year-old girl, were found hanging from a tree in a forest near Katingadia village near Dharmasala in this district Wednesday morning. The two were Bapi Samal and Puja Mallick of Paikarapur village under Dharmasala block.
Some locals who went to the forest to collect firewood spotted the bodies hanging together from a tree and informed the police. A case of unnatural death was registered and the bodies were sent for post-mortem.
According to locals, the two were in love for a couple of years and wanted to marry. Their parents weren’t agreeable to this. Frustrated over repeated rejections from the parents, the two ended their lives, locals said.
“The two were missing for a day. Their bodies were spotted hanging in the forest, police said.
