Barang: A male Nilgai Friday died at Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) here following two days of illness.
According to sources, the Nilgai was found dead at enclosure no. 64 of NZP in the morning. “The Asian antelope was unwell for last couple of days. Our veterinarians were attending it. The animal was found dead Friday morning,” said a zoo official.
NZP sources claimed that the Nilgai might have died due to old-age related diseases. “The number of Nilgai at NZP came down to 23,” said the official.
