Malkangiri: Five Maoist cadres including one carrying `1 lakh reward on his head surrendered before Dantewada police in Chhattisgarh across the Malkangiri district border Sunday.
The five Red rebels were identified as Kesru aka Kohla Alami of Parlana village under Orchha police limits of Narayanput district who has `1 lakh bounty on his head as declared by the government, Badru Alami of Parlana village in Dantewada district and Bijja Madbi, Madke Kabasi, Hadme Mandbi of Takopara village.
All the five were engaged in putting up Maoist posters, banners, and distributing leaflets.
As per reports, all these surrendered Maoists are the active members of Katekalyan and Indrabati area committee of Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh. Till date a total of 644 Maoists have surrendered, Dantewada police said.
