Bari: A man was arrested by local police on charges of raping a minor girl under Bari police limits of Jajpur district for allegedly raping a minor girl Thursday after luring her on the pretext of giving her a chocolate. He was forwarded to court Friday.
The accused has been identified as Damodar Das of Aliabad village.
According to police officials, the incident took place at 8:00pm Thursday when the accused lured the girl with a chocolate while she was returning home. He took her to an isolated place and raped her.
Later, the minor girl narrated her ordeal to her family. Meanwhile, police have registered a case bearing no. 194/19 and are conducting a probe into the incident. Based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s family, police arrested the accused Damodar at 10:00pm Thursday and forwarded him to court Friday.
