Keonjhar: A man was beaten to death by his younger brother over a family feud at Galaphula village near Patna in Keonjhar district Monday.
The deceased was identified as Nilambar Kamar. The accused, Narahari Kamar, was arrested and produced in court.
According to reports, Nilambar and Narahari entered into a heated exchange of words over certain issues allegedly pertaining to a shop they were running from the house.
The argument took an ugly turn after Narahari lost his cool and picked up an iron rod and hit his brother’s head repeatedly.
His family members immediately rushed Nialambar to Patna CHC in a critical condition. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
“The victim’s family was hesitant to lodge a police complaint. They tried to settle the matter between themselves. But later they changed their decision and lodged a case with the police,” said Patna IIC Pramodini Sahoo.
