Basudevpur: An elderly man has garnered much appreciation after he dragged his son holding the latter by the collar to the Basudevpur police station in Bhadrak district Tuesday. It has been alleged that the man, identified as Ajay Jena, was marrying for the second time despite having tied the nuptial knot before. He also has an eighty-year-old son.
Locals informed that Ajay’s dad, Bishnu Mohan, a resident of Edtal village in this block, got information that his son was getting married for the second time to a woman from Chandimal locality.
Hearing this, Bishnu Mohan and Ajay’s first wife Tulasi rushed to the marriage venue at Jadava ground here and interrupted proceedings. Bishnu Mohan then forcibly pulled Ajay to the police station holding the latter by his collar. Tulasi accompanied the two to the Basudevpur police station. Police informed that Ajay and Tulasi had tied the nuptial knot 10 years back.
However, he developed a relationship with the other woman he was about to marry. Both Bishnu Mohan and Tulasi filed a complaint in this regard at the Basudevpur police station. Police initially tried to settle the dispute amicably Tuesday.
However, Ajay was adamant that he would marry the second woman. The three again met at the police station Wednesday. Ajay then gave in writing that he would not step into Bishnu Mohan’s house in future and that he did not want any property from his dad.
Finally, both Bishnu Mohan, his daughter-in-law Tulasi and Ajay signed an agreement in this regard. After that Ajay left the police station with the second woman, while Bishnu Mohan and Tulasi went back to their house in Edtal village.
