Baripada: A woman and her two-year-old daughter were left in the lurch as the in-laws threw them out of the house late Monday night. This, after her husband eloped with another girl.
The two were rescued by the police while they were wandering around aimlessly along the main road late at night. The woman was Subhadra Bindhani of Jalada village near Jharpokharia in Mayurbhanj district.
Locals said she had been married to a youth of Jalada village. However, the man developed an affair with another girl of the same village and eloped with her, leaving behind the wife and their little daughter.
The woman’s in-laws started inflicting mental and physical torture on the two. The woman was thrown out of the house late at night. She took to the streets along with her daughter. The two were sent to a Short Stay home. A case will be registered against her husband and necessary action will be taken, police said.
