Rayagada: A local court Monday sentenced a man to life imprisonment after convicting him of murdering a minor boy. The court of Gunupur Additional District Judge awarded the punishment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict, Padman Bibhar, of Gangarapada village under Muniguda police limits in this district.
The incident occurred in April, 2016. Over an enmity with the boy’s family, Bibhar killed the boy and tried to destroy the evidence.
Based on a complaint filed by the boy’s father, the police began an investigation and subsequently arrested Bibhar who confessed to the crime during interrogation.
