Badasahi: A man was killed after an unknown vehicle hit him at Balijoda on Baripada-Udala near Badasahi in Mayurbhanj district Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Satyaban Nayak of Taland village.
Satyaban went to Suliapada to work as a labourer five days ago. The accident happened when an unknown vehicle hit him while he was returning to his village. The vehicle fled the spot.
The irate villagers staged a road block Wednesday following which the police intervened. The agitation was withdrawn after the police assured the protestors of prompt action.
The body was sent to PRM Medical College and Hospital in Baripada for post-mortem.
