Jajpur: A person died while his son sustained critical injuries in a head-on collision between their two-wheeler and a speeding truck near Mandia Chhak on NH-53 in Jajpur district Sunday.
While the deceased has been identified as Narayan Sahoo (50) of Gadamadhupur village, the critically injured person was identified as his son, Purnachandra Sahoo (25).
According to reports, Narayan along with his son were returning home on his bike from Aruha when a truck coming from the opposite direction collided head on with the two-wheeler. While Narayan died on the spot, passers-by rescued Purnachandra in a critical condition and rushed him to Dharmasala community health centre (CHC) where his condition remains critical.
On being informed police rushed to spot, seized the body and sent if for autopsy.
The vehicles were seized and a probe was launched.
