Sundargarh: A septuagenarian woman was allegedly bludgeoned to death by her son at Deobhubanpur village under Kinjirkela police limits in Sundargarh district late Monday night.
The accused, identified as Arjun Sabar (45), youngest son of the deceased woman, Samuni Sabar (75), was detained by the police while he was taking the woman’s body for cremation.
The police have seized the body for post-mortem and launched a probe into the matter, said a source.
Sources said Samuni and her son Arjun had an altercation over money for purchasing liquor. After the elderly woman refused to give money for purchasing liquor Arjun, in a fit of rage, attacked her with a piece of stone killing her on the spot.
