Sambalpur: In a shocking incident, a man beat his younger brother to death over land dispute at Kurmimunda village under Mahulipali police limits in Sambalpur district, Friday.
The accused has been identified as Sardar Bag, elder brother of the deceased Pradeep Bag. After getting information from locals, police reached the village and launched a probe. A case of murder based on the deceased’s wife statement was registered. The accused was detained for interrogation.
According to sources, Sardar had a heated argument with his younger brother Pradeep with regard to sharing land possessed by the family. Things turned violent when Sardar, in a fit of rage, attacked Pradeep with a wooden plank. He bludgeoned Pradeep to death. Trying to save her husband, Pradeep’s wife also suffered injuries. The incident has spread shockwaves in the area.
