Balasore: In a shocking incident, a man put his wife on pawn in gambling and lost her to winner and the latter gangraped her in Baliapal area of Balasore. The incident took place May 23, but came to the fore Tuesday when the victim approached the Superintendent of Police B Jugal Kishore and lodged a complaint May 27.
The complainant alleged that her husband’s friends put the condition that if he loses the gamble, he would allow them to the company of his wife for a night. After losing the gamble, the man led her wife at about 11 pm to a farmland where the winners committed the crime.
Afraid and embarrassed, the victim along with her two sons fled to her parents place on the following night.
But the police allegedly refused to receive the complaint and turned her away. She approached the SP Tuesday.
The SP said that he has received the complaint and an investigation is being carried out. Necessary step will be taken he added.
