Balasore: In a shocking incident, a 65-yr-old widow was allegedly raped here late Monday night by a man in Soro municipality area in Balasore district.
According to sources, the incident occurred while the woman was asleep at her house. A man of the locality, reportedly broke into the house and brandished a sharp weapon.
He then allegedly outraged her modesty and fled following which the woman tried to commit suicide.
She was rescued by family members, who immediately filed a police complaint. While the man has been held for further investigation, the woman has been sent for medical examination, said sources.
