Basudevpur: A man was allegedly murdered at Bachhipur village near Basudevpur in Bhadrak district Sunday night. The body was found with an eye gouged out and ear chopped off.
The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Chandra Satpathy (40).
According to reports, Ganesh’s body was found lying in a pool of blood inside his house Monday morning.
On being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it for autopsy. Police have also started an investigation.
Though the exact reason for the incident is not yet known, it is suspected that someone might have murdered Ganesh while he was sleeping.
He was alone in the house as his wife and children were out of the state for a trip.
