Maoists call for poll boycott through posters in Kandhamal

Baliguda: Panic gripped the residents of Sukingia and Parampanga village under Baliguda sub-division in Kandhamal district after Maoists posers threatening people to boycott the upcoming polls surfaced Wednesday morning.

The posters surface just two days after the election schedules were announced. The matter came to the fore after a Maoist poster was spotted near Sukingia Chhak today morning.

The poster has reportedly been released in the name of CPI outlawed, Baghuna divisional committee of the CPI (Maoists) outfit. Through the poster, the outlawed organisation urged the people not to participate in the upcoming elections. Besides, the rebels in the posters have urged people to form a ‘government of revolutionaries’.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and seized the poster. On the other hand, a combing operation has been launched in the area.
