Bhubaneswar: A woman was found dead at a hotel room in Mancheswar area in Bhubaneswar Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmipriya Biswal of Khurda.
According to sources, the woman was staying at the hotel with a male friend since last two days. While her dead body was found Friday morning, her friend was absconding.
Getting information, police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident. The police also recovered a fake Aadhaar card with name mentioned as Aditya Mohapatra from the hotel room.
Though exact reason behind the incident is yet to be known, it is suspected that the youth might have killed her. However, the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained.
“We have called her family members and relatives who are staying at Patia. CCTV footage of the hotel room will be inspected to get some leads in the incident”, a police official said.
Sources said, Friday morning when the manager of the hotel asked him for payment of the room for two nights, the youth said that he was going to withdraw money from the ATM and then went missing for couple of hours,. the manager tried calling him but his phone was switched off. When he went to check their room and I found the girl dead on the floor.
Meanwhile, the police have launched a lookout to nab the youth.
